The Brief
RCC (Random Character Collective) and Shopify came to Deeplocal to create an immersive and interactive experience at NFT.NYC, offering attendees a unique blend of entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and engaging token holder interactions. This activation combined a Merch Shop, Hall of Fame, and Club Lounge to elevate the event experience.
My Role
As the UX designer on the project, my role involved designing all of the digital screens and corresponding loading animations for a token-gated vending machine in a skate-themed merch shop powered by Shopify. This concept integrated blockchain technology, specifically NFT ownership, with a traditional vending machine, creating an exciting and interactive experience for token holders to receive merch from the machine.
Final Work
The token-gated vending machine created a buzz and encouraged attendees to actively engage with the activation. It added an element of gamification, as attendees had to utilize their tokens strategically to choose items from the vending machine.
Overall, the token-gated vending machine was an innovative fusion of blockchain technology, collectibles, and retail experiences. It added a layer of exclusivity and engagement to the activation, making it a standout feature that appealed to both NFT enthusiasts and event attendees.
